The Play Therapy Process
You should know that the process of play therapy takes time and no one can predict exactly how long it may take for a child to go through the stages of his or her own therapy. It could be six months to a year or longer depending on the child, family, or situation. The stages, however, are similar for each child:
As a Caretaker you are an important part of the process and usually meet with the therapist once a month for an hour to discuss the child’s progress and anything in his or her life that could impact the therapy sessions. Your input is important.
